Courses

Each Certificate in Music course is designed to be completed in 1 month. Courses are taught through interactive websites and FREE individual tutoring is available (if needed) by phone or email! Each course has an "open-book" final exam. There are two different certificates available (more coming soon):

CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC THEORY

This certificate course includes notation, rhythm, harmony, scales, intervals, composition analysis, chord progressions, terminology, and more! This course is challenging and a strong background in music is highly recommended. Piano proficiency is required. Course includes an "open-book" final exam which you must pass in order to receive your Certificate. Minimum time to complete is 1 month. Cost is $75.

CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC HISTORY

This certificate course is an overview of Western Music from the Middle Ages through the 20th century. Topics covered include the dates of each period of music, characteristics of each era, and major composers of each period. This course covers a lot of material. It is available to anyone interested in learning about music history. Students with a strong background in music will grasp the material more fully. Proficiency in any instrument is highly recommended. Course includes an "open-book" final exam which you must pass in order to receive your Certificate. Minimum time to complete is 1 month. Cost is $75.

You will be mailed a professional printed certificate upon completion of the course. Some students request that they be given more time than 1 month to complete a course. You can take longer to complete the courses if needed but 1 month per course is the shortest amount of time that we allow.

* The Certificate in Music is not a college degree. The Wyndham Academy of Music is an online school, not an accredited vocational school, college or university. Credits earned here are unlikely to transfer to other schools. Courses taken here are intended for personal enrichment, not as vocational preparation.
